Wave is the brain child of Paul and Jo Henderson, husband and wife, who started Wave Jewellery in 2001. The concept was born out of ideas that are just as relevant today — that jewellery should be designed with flair and be as unique as the person wearing it and yet stand the test of time both in quality and looks, that people don't all want the same thing and that jewellery is a very special and important choice whether you are asking somebody to marry you or choosing the piece for yourself to complete that special outfit.

Paul and Jo travel the globe sourcing the best and rarest diamonds, searching out exquisite jewellery by leading and award-winning international designers and tracking down the best watch brands. This takes them to Switzerland, Brazil, Italy, Germany and further afield.

Wave opened its first boutique in Kendal — a picturesque market town in the Lake District. This store has gone from strength to strength, moving and expanding to finally find its ideal location on Finkle Street — an impressive treble-fronted store with two further floors housing the head office & a workshop. Wave then went on to open in Bowness–on–Windermere, further into the heart of the Lakes. The next store brought the wonder of Wave to the city of Lancaster. Wave's success in the North West led to the opening of a city centre boutique store in Manchester and most recently a prestigious London boutique on Beauchamp Place in Knightsbridge, a stone's throw from the world famous Harrods.

The Wave experience is designed to be one of pleasure and great customer service -nothing is too much trouble for one of the experienced Wave team who will personally guide you in your purchase from advising on styles right through to beautifully gift wrapping your purchase should you desire. Wave also offers a bespoke service that is second to none - if you can't find your heart's desire Wave can design and make it for you, from a wedding ring to fit around an unusual-shaped engagement ring to that special gift that needs to be completely unique and personal.

Wave is well respected within its industry, being called upon to comment in Retail Jeweller Magazine on a regular basis. This magazine also dedicated a full double-page spread to the launch of the fourth Wave store in Manchester. Wave has also had the honour of being asked to  judge the UK Jewellery Awards many times; this year included. In May 2010 Wave was named by other jewellers and by Retail Jeweller Magazine as one of the countries  Most Inspiring independent jewellery retailers in the UK. In September 2010 the company directors were included:  Professional jeweller magazine as on of the industry  'Hot 100' an industry  publication and supporting event held at Kensingtons roof gardens London.
